Philosophy Of Education

My approach to art education is to introduce art as a visual language or simply a way to talk without words. Throughout the year, I explore with the children how art:

Can tell a story
Express Feelings
Communicate Ideas
Record History
Describe what people, places and things look like

Using the Teaching for Understanding approach to education, it is my intent to foster self esteem and empower the children as artists. It is important for the children to have fun with art and to understand that art can be an alternative means of self expression. It is my hope that the children will gain satisfaction in expressing their ideas and feelings through creating pieces of art.
